Phoning in results and providing linesmen Print E-mail
Written by Phil Kajewski
Friday, 16 May 2008 20:03

Teams are getting penalised a bit for not providing linesmen and not phoning in results. So:

  1. Can all captains please make a special effort to check the linesmen's roster and make sure you have two players organised to run the lines when you are rostered on.
  2. For winning team captains; if you can phone or email through your results to Phil within a few days this will assist with early notice for all teams. Note that winning teams loose a point if the results are not provided within a week (eg: Friday night).
Thanks!

Position vacant - Competition coordinator Print E-mail

POSITION VACANT. MOTIVATED PEOPLE ONLY NEED APPLY.

The opportunity to meet lots of interesting people. Decisions to be made. Lots of job satisfaction. Poor pay rates but lots of fun :-)

Hi everyone. The time has come to hand over the organising of the Inter-Church Soccer Competition. For the last few years I have asked if anyone was interested in running it and not one enquiry!! The last 20 years have flown by and it's time.

I have now given a few months notice for anyone to consider the job.

I am willing to help with contact details, phone numbers etc for next season to see the comp continue. Feel free to pass this email around and discuss with your players if they wish to get involved. Jack Kamst is organising the refs and Daniel Loader is doing a great job putting the info on the web. Daniel is willing to be the contact person to give the results to after each game, so part of the job is already in hand.

Trusting a suitable person will step up to allow this wonderful game and the friendships to continue for many years to come. Please contact me if you wish to find out more. Yours truly,
Phil Kajewski.

The all day carnival will be held on the 9th August 2008 at the Christian Outreach College.

Fields will be full size on the top field with 11 a side and the very small field on the bottom oval, maybe 7 a side? The Pressies are oing the draw so I will let them decide the final details. The Base will be organising food for sale.

All teams must confirm team entries to Brock at Pres before 13 July 2008.

Note: Competition organisor (Phil) has allowed some flexibility in Rule 13 for the first thee games of the season for teams to sort out their players. So from Round 4 (19 April 2008) player swapping between multiple teams from the one Church is not allowed (Guideline 13) and borrowing players without prior approval by the opposition captain (Guideline 25) will result in a forfeit. This provision will be added to the Competition Guidelines for 2009 onwards.

Guideline 13. "If more than 1 team from a church, then no swapping between teams is allowed."

Guideline 25. "Rule number 7 states that 7 players from your church constitute a team, and with this amount the game will count for points. When a team is short of numbers, other players are often borrowed to fill in until more turn up. This season you must only play with your own members, whether there are 7 or 10. If you choose to borrow players you may do so but the points for the match will be forfeited unless agreed upon by both captains. NOTE Please discuss this item before kickoff so everyone is aware if the match counts for points. The reason for this rule is to try to get more commitment out of your own players to show up each week so the team won’t be disadvantaged by being short of players. Also, some teams borrow a few key players from other teams who are capable of winning the match for their adopted team, which is a disadvantage for their opposition who have a full compliment of players turn up."
